Overview

The Department of Information Technology (INF) at Vardhaman College of Engineering, established in 1999 with a sanctioned intake of 60, is a premier academic unit dedicated to quality education, research, and innovation. marking the beginning of its academic journey. In 2011, it achieved a major milestone by obtaining autonomous status from JNTUH, enabling greater academic flexibility and curriculum enhancement. As the department continued to grow, the student intake was increased to 120 in 2013 to meet rising demand. Further expansion took place in 2020, when the intake capacity was enhanced to 180, reflecting the department’s continuous development and commitment to providing quality education.

  • B.Tech in UG : Information Technology 

The department fosters a strong research culture with a total of 32 (09 Ph.D.- and 21 are pursing Ph.D) qualified faculty members, many from reputed institutions such as NITs and Central Universities. It has made significant contributions through publications, patents, funded projects, and book authorship. Over the past three years, the department has published Good number of peer-reviewed journal papers, conference papers, patents, and research funding from agencies like DST and AICTE.

To promote specialized research and hands-on learning, the department has established Industry supported Centers of Excellence In Cyber Security and CISCO with the areas such as Network Security, Cyber security and Automation tools. These centers provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and enable students and faculty to engage in advanced projects and industry collaborations.

Department is having 02 Center of Excellence in the field of Cyber Security and CISCO Netacad to cater the needs of the industry.

The department’s well-equipped 08 laboratories cover a broad range of domains, including Data Science, Network Security , Emerging Trends and Image Processing

Industry partnerships support internships, workshops, and placement opportunities, with graduates successfully placed in leading organizations such as Google, JP Morgan, Amazon, Darwin box, Oracle, Deloitte, GainSight, etc.
