The Department of Information Technology (IT) has constituted various committees to ensure effective academic planning, quality enhancement, curriculum relevance, and continuous improvement. Each committee plays a vital role in achieving academic excellence and aligning the department with institutional and industry expectations.
The Department Advisory Committee serves as a strategic body that guides the continuous growth and advancement of the Information Technology department. It consists of senior faculty members, industry professionals, distinguished alumni, and academic experts with diverse experience in computing and technology domains. The committee periodically evaluates the department’s academic progress, curriculum effectiveness, infrastructure and laboratory facilities, research initiatives, and alignment with current industry trends. By providing constructive suggestions, it supports the enhancement of teaching–learning practices, promotes innovative research, strengthens industry partnerships, and improves student skill development and employability in the dynamic field of Information Technology.
The Program Assessment and Quality Improvement Committee is dedicated to sustaining and continuously enhancing the quality of academic programs in Information Technology. It systematically reviews Program Outcomes (POs), Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), and Course Outcomes (COs) using structured assessment and evaluation methodologies. Based on detailed outcome analysis and performance data, the committee recommends corrective measures, curriculum revisions, pedagogical enhancements, and academic process improvements to ensure continuous quality improvement. Its efforts align with accreditation and quality assurance frameworks such as NBA and NAAC, ensuring that the program maintains high academic standards, industry relevance, and outcome-based education practices.
The Board of Studies is responsible for framing, reviewing, and updating the curriculum in accordance with academic advancements, industry requirements, and regulatory guidelines (AICTE/JNTUH). The BoS includes internal faculty members and external experts from academia and industry. It ensures that the syllabus remains relevant, outcome-oriented, and aligned with emerging technologies, thereby preparing students for professional and higher education opportunities.
The Curriculum Committee works closely with the Board of Studies to design, revise, and implement the academic curriculum. It focuses on course structure, content relevance, credit distribution, and integration of practical and skill-based learning. The committee ensures that the curriculum supports interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and employability while meeting the program outcomes effectively.
The Project Review Committee oversees and evaluates student projects at different phases of development within the Information Technology program. It ensures that projects are technically robust, innovative, and aligned with current industry practices, emerging technologies, and research advancements in computing. Through structured periodic reviews, the committee monitors progress, provides constructive feedback, and offers technical guidance to enhance design, implementation, testing, and validation processes. It also ensures proper documentation, adherence to project standards, and meaningful outcomes, thereby supporting students in successfully completing high-quality, impactful projects.
The Class Review Committee (CRC) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the academic process. It ensures that students experience a structured, meaningful, and outcome-driven learning that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for academic excellence and professional success.
